DECR Communication service, 23.09.2025
On the evening of September 21, the feast of the Nativity of our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, a service for the Russian Orthodox community was held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi.
The service at St. Nicholas Church (Antiochian Patriarchate) was celebrated by the rector of St. Apostle Philip Church in Sharjah, Archimandrite Alexander (Zarkeshev), assisted by Deacon Alexy Kostin.
The festal hymns were performed by the choir of St. Apostle Philip Church in Sharjah. The service was attended by parishioners of the community residing in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Apostolic reading was read by Deacon Alexy, and the Holy Gospel was proclaimed from the ambo by Archimandrite Alexander.
The Creed and the Lord's Prayer were sung by all those praying in the church in a congregational chant. Before Holy Communion, Father Alexander conducted a general confession. Many of the parishioners received the Holy Mysteries of Christ. During Communion, the choir performed the troparion, kontakion, and magnification for the feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God.
At the end of the service, Archimandrite Alexander addressed those present with a sermon.
Following an established good tradition, the clergy and parishioners concluded the celebration with a commemorative group photograph.
