Representative of Russian Orthodox Church meets with Russian Ambassador to Syria

On June 25th, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), Representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, met with Mr Alexander Yefimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Syrian Arab Republic. The meeting took place at the Ambassador’s official residence in Damascus.
They discussed at length various matters pertaining to the cooperation between the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian diplomatic mission, as well as a wide range of topical issues of mutual interest.
Archimandrite Philip presented to Mr Yefomov a book on the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow. The publication was timed to the 500th anniversary of the convent’s foundation celebrated in 2024-2025.
Taking part in the meeting was also Dr H. Nasrallah, director of the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Centre functioning at the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus, website of the Representation reports.
