Metropolitan Juvenaly (Poyarkov) extends condolences to Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis following terrorist attack on Mar Elias Church in Damascus

On June 25th, Metropolitan Juvenaly (Poyarkov), the eldest hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, visited the Moscow Metochion of the Orthodox Church of Antioch.
He offered his condolences to Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, Antiochian Representative to the Moscow Patriarchal Throne, and expressed his support for the Orthodox Church of Antioch after the terrorist attack had hit Mar Elias Church in Damascus on June 22nd, killing 25 people and leaving over 60 people injured.
During their brotherly meeting, Metropolitan Niphon congratulated Metropolitan Juvenaly on receiving a high award of the Russian Federation – the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky.
Earlier, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation had also expressed their condolences.
