Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church visits Saidnaya Convent in Syria

On 3rd June 2025, Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), Representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, visited the Patriarchal Convent of Our Lady of Saidnaya. He was accompanied by Archpriest Fida Jabbour, a cleric of the Church of Hieromartyr Ignatius the God-Bearer.
In the convent, Father Philip had a meeting with its abbess, Mother Febronia (Nabhan), website of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus reports.
Archimandrite Philip conveyed to Mother Febronia greetings from Russian pilgrims and friends of the monastery.
Mother Febronia expressed her gratitude to Russian benefactors for their help and handed over to Father Philip a replica of the miracle-working “Our Lady of Saidnaya” Icon of the Mother of God painted for Russia.
The meeting was followed by a prayer service celebrated in the convent’s chapel in front of the miracle-working icon.
