His Holiness Patriarch Kirill arrives in Baku

On 3rd May 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ arrived in Baku. His Holiness is accompanied by his personal secretary, Bishop Alexy of Ramenskoye.
Meeting the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church at the Heydar Aliyev Airport were Bishop Alexy of Baku and Azerbaijan; Mr Mikhail Yevdokimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan; and Mr Sahib Naghiyev, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During his visit, His Holiness will meet with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev, Patriarchal Press Service reports.
On 4th May, 3rd Sunday after Easter, of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women, the Primate of the Russian Church will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Myrrh-Bearing Women in Baku.
Among other scheduled events is His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s meeting with Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board.
