His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije visits Serbian Metochion in Moscow

On April 23rd, during his visit to Moscow, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije visited the Metochion of the Serbian Orthodox Church – the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Leaders of the Apostles, by Yauza Gates.
His Holiness was accompanied by the members of the Serbian Orthodox Church’s delegation: His Eminence Irinej, Archbishop of Novi Sad and Metropolitan of Bačka; Archimandrite Hariton (Pavlica), Abbot of the Kovilj Monastery; Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Patriarchal Cabinet; Protodeacon Radomir Vrućinić, Rector of the Saint Sava Seminary in Belgrade; Protodeacon Radojica Žagran; Hierodeacon Justin (Živanić), a coenobite of the Kovilj Monastery; Deacon Ivan Vasiljević; as well as Subdeacons Dejan Nakić and Vladimir Jelić.
Among those accompanying the Serbian Patriarch were also Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’; Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR Deputy Chairman; Hegumen Feofan (Lukyanov), DECR Head of Protocol; Priest Nikolai Vasin, Secretary to the DECR Chairman; and Mr Andrei Khoshev of the DECR Secretariat for Inter-Orthodox Relations.
At the Serbian Metochion, His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije was met and greeted by its Rector and Representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’, Bishop Stefan of Remesiana.
His Holiness visited the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and delivered a brief homily on the meaning of the Resurrection of Christ for every believer. The Primate of the Serbian Church also laid flowers on the grave of Bishop Antonije (Pantelić) of Moravica of blessed memory.
Among those present in the church during Patriarch Porfirije’s visit were Mr Nikola Selaković, Serbian Minister of Culture; Mr Nenad Popović, Minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia; Mr Momčilo Babić, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation; Mr Alexander Dybal, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in the Moscow Region; as well as the Metochion clergy and parishioners.
