The Holy Scripture was read in Church Slavonic and French, website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports.
Also on this day, Fr. Georgy celebrated the Blessing of the Waters and blessed the Easter baskets of food.
The day before, Fr. Georgy gave a talk to the teachers and students of the Russian school at the Embassy about the feast of Easter and the educational work of the Russian Orthodox Church on the African continent.
Orthodox literature was given to the Embassy and school libraries, and the faithful received pectoral crosses and small icons.
"Many people thanked the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa for sending a priest to celebrate Easter with them and expressed hope for the continuation of spiritual care in the country, which has no Orthodox church and has never had," said Fr. Georgy.
On Good Friday that fell on April 18, Fr. Georgy celebrated Matins with the rite of burial of our Lord Jesus Christ. On Holy Saturday, he consecrated the building of the Russian Embassy in Guinea and heard confessions of those who so wished.
