Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church participates in service for Holy Thursday at the Dormition Cathedral in Damascus.

On Holy Thursday 17th April 2025, at the invitation of the Most Blessed Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X, the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev) participated in the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral in Damascus, Syria.
The service was headed by the auxiliary bishop to the Most Blessed Patriarch the bishop of Resafa Youhanna. With him were concelebration archimandrite Philip and the cathedral clergy.
Praying at the Liturgy and receiving communing was the Most Blessed Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X.
As reported by the Damascus-based Russian Orthodox representation’s website, before the beginning of the Divine Liturgy archimandrite Philipp congratulated His Beatitude the Patriarch on the occasion of Holy Thursday.
