Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission concelebrates with Patriarch of Jerusalem on the Feast of the Annunciation

On April 7, the Feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, presided over the divine service at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth.
His Beatitude was assisted by the hierarchs of the Church of Jerusalem, namely, Metropolitan Isychios of Kapitolias, Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth, and Archbishop Damaskinos of Joppa.
Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and deacon Makary Petukhov, a cleric of the Mission, took part in the divine service, the Mission’s website reports.
The liturgical hymns were sung by the church choir conducted by Archbishop Aristovoulos of Madaba.
The festive service was celebrated in Greek, Arabic and Church Slavonic.
Among those praying at the service were H.E. Anatoly Viktorov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the State of Israel, and other officials.
The Divine Liturgy was followed by an official reception, at which Ambassador Viktorov gave a speech.
