DECR Secretary for Interfaith Relations speaks at student conference in Moscow State Law University

On 17th March 2025, the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) hosted the All-Russian Student Conference on Foundations of the Russian Statehood, entitled “Legal Outlines of Post-War World.” The conference is timed to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event brought together representatives of the academic community, public figures, combat veterans and students of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the Sukharev Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among those who spoke during the conference’s plenary section were: Prof. A.V. Kornev, head of the MSAL Department of Theory of State and Law; retired Major General of Internal Service T.N. Radko, honoured lawyer of the Russian Federation, professor of the MSAL Department of Theory of State and Law; reserve Guards Colonel A.V. Kondratyev, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs; and Mr A.A. Zhurkov, head of the MSAL Office for Youth Policy and Education.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, Priest Iliya Kashitsyn, DECR Secretary for Interfaith Relations, delivered an address during the conference, which focused on the role of interfaith dialogue in the present-day international relations, cooperation between traditional religions in Russia, activities of the Interreligious Council of Russia, and an impact of the religious factor on the legal system.
Among other topics explored in the conference speakers’ addresses were counter-measures against attempts to falsify history, the international law, ways to promote the youth’s adherence to traditional values, efforts aimed at combating extremism and terrorism, and preventive measures against social conflicts.
