His Beatitude Patriarch John of Antioch and All the East meets with Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church

On January 18^th, at his residence in the Patriarchal Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand, His Beatitude Patriarch John X of the Great Antioch and All the East received Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), Representative of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Archimandrite Philip conveyed to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Antioch greetings and words of support from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’.

Discussed during the meeting were various matters pertaining to the activity of the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus and the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Lebanon, as well as topical issues of inter-Orthodox dialogue, Metochion’s website reports.

Archimandrite Philip told His Beatitude, among other things, about the Metochion’s cooperation with the Archdiocese of Mount Lebanon. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Beatitude Patriarch John asked Father Philip to convey his gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for the invariable support and help for the Orthodox Church of Antioch.

In March 2024, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, celebrated the lesser consecration of the Holy Annunciation Church in Jal El Dib (Archdiocese of Mount Lebanon). The Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos had been provided as a place of worship to the community of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Metochion by Metropolitan Silouan of Byblos, Batroun and Dependencies (Mount Lebanon).
