On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Russian Parish in Addis Ababa

On September 27, during the Feast of the Exaltation of the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, by the blessing of the Chairman of the DECR, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, and the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, the DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations, Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), celebrated the Divine Liturgy for Russian-speaking believers in Addis Ababa.

The service took place at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (Russian House) located in the capital of Ethiopia.

The liturgy was sung by the United Choir of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius and the Moscow Theological Academy, conducted by Hieromonk Nestor (Volkov).

Prayerfully participating in the service were the abbess of the Martha and Mary Convent of Mercy in Moscow, Abbess Elizabeth (Pozdnyakova), staff of the Russian Embassy in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the leadership of the Russian House, and representatives of the Russian-speaking diaspora in Addis Ababa. Many received the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
