DECR Communication Service, 20/09/2024
On 19th September 2024, in the Ukrainian city of Irpin, Kyiv region, a group of the OCU raiders, assisted by Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn and the police, seized St. Nicholas Church and the Holy Resurrection Chapel, reports the UOJ citing dozor_kozak1Telegram channel.
“The last church in the deanery has been taken away from the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church!” dozor_kozak1 writes. Reported earlier were seizures of the Holy Trinity Church and the Church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer.
According to the dean, Archpriest Oleksandr Fedorychko, the perpetrators cut the locks off the church door and claimed that from now on the church belonged to the OCU.
Earlier, on 28th June, activists of the schismatic organization held an illegal meeting and forged church-related documents.
