Report on church relief efforts in Kursk and Belgorod regions for 8th September

The Social Department of the Belgorod Diocese received a humanitarian cargo from the Podolsk Deanery of the Podolsk Diocese. A truck loaded with food, household chemicals, hygiene products, bed linen, pillows, and blankets was sent to assist those in need. The charitable organization "Mercy-Podolsk," the Georgievsk Sisterhood of Mercy, and the regional public fund "House of Help" participated in the shipment of goods. Several more trucks with humanitarian cargo are planned to be sent to the regions in the near future, reports diakonia.ru.

A total of 751 requests (6 on September 8th) were received from the Kursk region on the hotline of the Synodal Department for Charity at 8-800-70-70-222 since August 7.

738 individuals (250 families) from the Kursk region and 19 individuals (7 families) from the Belgorod region have contacted the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters under the Synodal Department for Charity since August 6th.
1,571 deliveries of assistance have been received at the Moscow Headquarters from churches, monasteries, and concerned citizens since August 6.
On September 8, 23 individuals (8 families) from the Kursk region sought help at the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters. Compared to the previous day, the number of families reaching out to the Moscow Headquarters for assistance slightly increased. All arrived at the homes of relatives or acquaintances. Humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, household chemicals, school supplies) was provided to all families that reached out. Additionally, bed linen, blankets, pillows, mattresses, folding beds, and dishes were delivered to refugees upon request.

11 volunteers and one employee from the Synodal Department for Charity are currently providing assistance at three temporary accommodation centers and one hospital in the Kursk region, .

Clergy from various dioceses in Russia regularly visit hospitals in Kursk. Since August 9th, there have been 5 trips made by 5 priests from 3 dioceses.
