Report on church relief efforts in Kursk and Belgorod regions for 6th September

Representatives of a group of entrepreneurs (“I Embraced Everyone” Charitable Foundation), who had delivered 160 tons of humanitarian aid to Kursk with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, helped distribute food packages at the Church Centre for All-Round Social Relief in the Holy Trinity Convent in Kursk.

Since 16th August, 14,257 people have appealed for help to the Church Centre for All-Round Social Relief in the Trinity Convent in Kursk.
Seeking assistance at the Church Centre on 6th September were 1,148 people (287 families). A lot of people needed bedclothes, pillows, blankets and folding beds.
The help-seeking families received cleaning products and food packages. Provided upon request were folding beds, bedclothes, blankets, pillows, stationary, 2 tonometers and 1 glucometer. To satisfy requests that came to the hotline of the Synodal Department for Charity, work was done to relocate two women from a temporary accommodation centre in Zheleznogorsk and one woman from Rylsk. Five people asked for help in seeking accommodation and a new job. One resident of the Kursk region received assistance in making an appointment with an oncologist at St. Alexis Hospital in Moscow.
Delivered to the Church Centre were eight tons of humanitarian aid, including pillows, blankets, bedclothes, cleaning products, foodstuffs and new clothes: five tons were sent from the Smolensk Diocese and three tons from the Armavir Diocese. The Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Kurchatov provided stationary, school backpacks and new school uniform.
Twenty-five volunteers worked at the Church Centre that day.

Since 6th August, 695 people (235 families) from the Kursk region and 19 people (7 families) from the Belgorod region have appealed for help to the Moscow Headquarters for Refugee Assistance operating under the Synodal Department for Charity.
Since 6th August, the Moscow Headquarters has received 1,514 aid deliveries from churches, monasteries and concerned Muscovites.
On 6th September, 20 people (9 families) from the Kursk region sought assistance at the Moscow Headquarters. Compared to the day before, the number of families seeking assistance increased. All of them are staying with their relatives and friends. Five families asked for help in finding temporary accommodation. All the families received humanitarian aid (foodstuffs, hygiene and cleaning products, school supplies). Upon request, bedclothes, blankets, pillows, mattresses and folding beds were provided.

Since 6th August, 221 people from the Kursk region appealed for help to the Church Headquarters for Refugee Assistance located at Saints Martha and Mary Convent in Belgorod.
On 6th September, 92 families sought assistance at the Church Headquarters in Belgorod. Three more families called its hotline. Receiving humanitarian aid (foodstuffs, hygiene products, bedclothes, pillows, blankets, clothes and medicine upon request) were 218 people: 190 people from the Belgorod region and border areas, 13 people from the DPR, the LPR and Ukraine, 11 people from the Kharkov region, 4 people from the Kursk region.

Twelve volunteers and one staff member of the Synodal Department for Charity have been working in three temporary accommodation centres and one hospital in the Kursk region.

Priests from various dioceses in Russia visit Kursk hospitals on a regular basis. Since 9th August, there have already been 5 shifts with 5 priests from 3 dioceses.

At the request of the Emergencies Ministry, volunteers from the Church Centre for All-Round Social Relief in Kursk unloaded a truck that brought humanitarian cargo to the city.

Since 9th August, the Humanitarian Aid Centre operating under the Youth Department of the Kursk Diocese has distributed 600 tons of foodstuffs and cleaning products among people affected by the hostilities in the Kursk region, diaconia.ru reports.
