Report for August 31st on church aid to victims in the Kursk and Belgorod regions

On August 31st, the chief doctor of the St. Alexii of Moscow Hospital Alexey Zarov visited the Kursk Regional Hospital. Mr. Zarov met with the chief doctor of the Kursk Regional Hospital, Mikhail Lukashov, the deputy director of the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine, Oleg Kakurin, and the surgeon and director of the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology, Valery Mitish. The participants discussed the specifics of providing assistance in the Kursk region and agreed to organize a training class at the Kursk Regional Hospital, reports the website diakonia.ru.

On August 31st, 824 people (206 families) sought help at the Church Center for Comprehensive Social Assistance in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Kursk. Families were provided with sets of household chemicals and food packages. Upon request, pillows, blankets, mattresses, bed linen, school supplies, dishes, and towels were distributed to those in need.
The center received 2 tons of humanitarian aid fr om the Podolsk Diocese and 7 tons from Saratov. 1 ton of watermelons was brought and distributed to those seeking help from the RBC group.
Fifteen sets of household chemicals and diapers of various sizes were sent from the center to Belgorod.
Throughout the day, 37 volunteers assisted at the center, including three driver volunteers.

From August 7 to August 31, 704 requests (7 for August 31) were received from the Kursk region on the hotline of the Synodal Department for Charity at 8-800-70-70-222.

Since August 6th, 621 people (204 families) from the Kursk region and 15 people (six families) from the Belgorod region have contacted the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters under the Synodal Department for Charity.
1,386 deliveries of aid have been received by the Moscow Headquarters from churches, monasteries, and concerned citizens since August 6th.
On August 31, 25 people (6 families) from the Kursk region and one person from the Belgorod region sought help at the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters. Compared to the previous day, the number of families contacting the Moscow Headquarters for Refugee Assistance slightly decreased. All had arrived at relatives or acquaintances. All families that sought assistance received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, household chemicals). Additionally, upon request, bed linen, blankets, and pillows were provided to the refugees.

Bishop Nektary of Livny and Maloarkhangelsk visited the Holy Elizabeth Home for the Elderly in Livny, Oryol Region, wh ere two families of displaced persons from the Kursk region are temporarily residing. Bishop Nektary held a moleben, during which prayers were offered for the health and well-being of the families living in the Home for the Elderly. After the service, Bishop Nektary spoke with the families and expressed words of support. He also presented them with icons of the Mother of God, books about the churches of the Livny Diocese, fruits, sweet treats, and financial assistance.
