Report on church relief aid to people affected by hostilities in Kursk and Belgorod regions as of August 28th

On August 28th, 768 people (192 families) sought assistance at the Church's Comprehensive social assistance center in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Kursk. Food packages and hygiene kits were distributed to the families in need. Additionally, upon request, families received pillows, blankets, bed linen, kettles, walkers, baby food, mattresses, and folding beds. One family of four was provided with housing in the Ponirovsky district. The center sent linens, socks, baby meat food, and antiseptics to the hospital in Kursk, while products, men’s underwear, and socks were delivered to the Nikolsky Church in the Rylsky district, reports diakonia.ru
The Center received 9 tons of humanitarian aid fr om the Synodal Department for Charity, including food, household chemicals, pillows, blankets, and diapers. About 100 deliveries of assistance were made to the center from private donors. Throughout the day, 40 volunteers assisted at the center.

Since August 7th, there have been 668 calls (10 on August 28th) on the hotline of the Synodal Department for Charity at 8-800-70-70-222 from the Kursk region.

Since August 6th, 555 people (185 families) from the Kursk region and 14 people (5 families) from the Belgorod region have contacted the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters at the Synodal Department for Charity.
1,303 deliveries of assistance have been received at the Moscow Headquarters from churches, monasteries, and concerned citizens of Moscow since August 6.
On August 28th, 11 people (4 families) from the Kursk region sought help at the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters. Compared to the previous day, the number of families seeking assistance decreased, as almost all had gone to relatives or acquaintances. All families who sought help received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, household chemicals). Additionally, bed linen and blankets were provided to refugees upon request.

Since August 6th, 193 people from the Kursk region have sought help at the church headquarters for refugees in Belgorod, located in the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery.
On August 28, 47 families sought assistance at the church headquarters in Belgorod. Another six families contacted the headquarters via the hotline. A total of 107 people received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, bedding, pillows, blankets, clothing): 82 from Belgorod region and neighboring areas, 9 from the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic and Ukraine, 8 from the Kharkov direction, and 8 from the Kursk region.

Volunteers from the Synodal Department for Charity have begun caring for the disabled and elderly at the temporary accommodation center in the village of Dlinnaya in the Shchigrovsky district of the Kursk region. This is the second temporary accommodation center in the Kursk region wh ere church volunteers are working. The center houses more than 100 people, many of whom are elderly and require care and attention from volunteers. Local volunteers are also involved in assisting at the temporary accommodation center.

On August 28, Metropolitan German of Kursk and Rylsk, Acting Governor of the Kursk Region Alexey Smirnov, Presidential Envoy to the Central Federal District Igor Shchegolev, and representatives of the Kursk administration visited theChurch's comprehensive social assistance center in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Kursk. Metropolitan German introduced the guests to the Center's work. They toured the facilities, spoke with the staff and volunteers, as well as with the affected families seeking assistance.

The first group of volunteers from the "Readovka helps!" foundation has arrived in Kursk to assist the victims at the Church's comprehensive social assistance center in the Holy Trinity Monastery.
