Report on church relief aid to people affected by hostilities in Kursk and Belgorod regions as of August 26th

Over three tons of humanitarian aid were sent to the affected residents of the Kursk region by parishes in Ulyanovsk: two tons from the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos (food, water, medications, personal hygiene items, sleeping supplies), and more than one ton from the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (essential items, blankets, pillows, bed linen sets), reports diakonia.ru

On August 26th, 616 people (280 families) sought help at the Church's Comprehensive Social Assistance Center in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Kursk. Many of those who applied were interested in housing. One refugee family was accommodated in Kursk. One refugee from Sudzha was assisted with placement at a temporary accommodation center in the village of Ponyri, and another family was directed to Ponyri for residence. Refugees from Sudzha who contacted the Synodal Department for Charity's hotline were provided with a washing machine.
From the Center, 20 folding beds, 30 food packages, and 10 sets of household chemicals were sent to the Church in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the city of Kurchatov. Baby food, wet wipes, and urological pads were sent to one of the hospitals in the Kursk region.
1.5 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the Center from the Malino Deanery of the Podolsk Diocese (pillows, blankets, food, household chemicals), as well as assistance from parishioners of the Church of Ss. Constantine and Helen in Mitino, Moscow. Journalists from RBC (РБК) purchased and donated 90 kettles, electric stoves, 150 sets of bed linen, 150 towels, 37 mattresses, pillows, blankets, and about three tons of watermelons for the victims.
Throughout the day, 38 volunteers assisted at the Сenter.

Since August 7, there have been 645 calls (20 on August 26th) to the Synodal Department for Charity's hotline at 8-800-70-70-222 from the Kursk region.

535 people (175 families) from the Kursk region and 14 people (5 families) from the Belgorod region have contacted the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters under the Synodal Department for Charity since August 6th.
1,246 deliveries of aid have been received at the Moscow headquarters from churches, monasteries, and concerned citizens since August 6th.
On August 26th, sixteen people (6 families) from the Kursk region sought assistance at the Moscow Refugee Assistance Headquarters. Compared to the previous day, the number of families seeking help at the Moscow headquarters doubled. Almost all arrived to stay with relatives or friends. Two families were assisted in finding housing. All families that applied received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, household chemicals). Additionally, bedding, blankets, and dishes were provided to refugees upon request.

Since August 6th, 160 people from the Kursk region have sought help at the Church's Refugee Assistance Headquarters in Belgorod, located in the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery.
On August 26th, 89 families sought assistance at the headquarters in Belgorod. Two more families contacted the headquarters via the hotline. A total of 238 people received humanitarian aid (food, hygiene products, bedding, pillows, blankets, clothing): from Belgorod region and border areas – 204 people, from the Kursk region – 17 people, from the Kharkov direction – 13 people, and four people from the Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic and Ukraine.
