The Primate of the Russian Church celebrates All-night Vigil at the Lavra of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius

On July 17, on the eve of the commemoration day of the uncovering of the venerable relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh (1422), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated the All-night Vigil on the Cathedral square of the Lavra, Patriarchia.ru. reports.
The festive service was celebrated in front of the venerated icon of St. Sergius. A platform was built on the Cathedral square, and an altar under the canopy was installed in front of the Lavra’s Cathedral of the Dormition for celebrating All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy on the feast day.
Concelebrating with His Holiness were eight metropolitans and an assembly of archbishops and bishops, who arrived for the celebration, as well as four archimandrites of the Lavra and other brethren.
The liturgical chants were sung by the joint choir of the Lavra and the Moscow theological academy conducted by hieromonk Nestor (Volkov).
Among those attending the service was Mr. Vadim V. Mikhailov, the first deputy managing director of the Russian Railways.
A great many pilgrims prayed during the service.
The patriarchal service was broadcast live on the Soyuz and Spas TV channels, and also on Patriarchia.ru, the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The All-night Vigil was also celebrated by Metropolitan Dimitry of Tobolsk and Tyumen in the church of the Intercession at the Academy, and by Metropolitan Rostisav of Tomsk and Asino in the church of St. John Climacus.
