DECR Chairman prays at the Divine service celebrated by the head of the Metropolia of Tatarstan
On May 15, 2024, the feast of the transfer of the relics of the Holy Right-Believing Princes Boris and Gleb of Russia, Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Sts. Boris and Gleb in the village of Borisoglebskoye in Kazan, co-served by clergymen of the Tatarstan Metropolia.
Praying at the service were Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, who had arrived in Kazan the day before with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' to participate in the events of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, and members of the delegation: Archimandrite Philaret (Bulekov), DECR vice-chairman, Rev. Ilia Kashitsyn, secretary for interreligious relations of the Department, Rev. Nikolay Vasin, assistant to the DECR Chairman.
After the service, Metropolitan Kirill congratulated the faithful on the patronal feast of Sts. Boris and Gleb Church and on the continuation of the celebration of the Bright Resurrection of Christ. The head of the Tatarstan Metropolia thanked the DECR Chairman for the joy of praying together in the village church and participating in the events of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group at the invitation of Rais Rustam Minnikhanov.
In his turn, the head of the DECR, on behalf of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, conveyed to Metropolitan Kirill congratulations and good wishes for good health, strength and God's help in his labors in the blessed land of Tatarstan.
