His Holiness Patriarch Kirill hosts a regular session of the Supreme Church Council.

On 16th April 2024 in the Hall of the Supreme Church Council of the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia hosted a regular session of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The Patriarchal website reports that in opening the session the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church greeted its participants and announced the agenda of four particular topics:

● The text book called The Foundations of the Spiritual and Moral Culture of the Peoples of Russia (the speaker on this topic was the metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturie Yevgeny)

● The work of military chaplains in the conflict zone of the special military operation (the speaker on this topic was the metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Kirill)

● A draft document for a special course on the foundations of military training for the higher theological schools (speaking on this topic were the metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Kirill and archpriest Maxim Kozlov)

● The legal position of military chaplains (speaking on this topic were the metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk Kirill and abbess Xenia (Chernega)

Invited to take part in the session were: the archbishop of Zelenograd Savva, the deputy chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchy; the bishop of Balashikha and Orekhovo-Zuevo Nikolai, the director and editor-in-chief of the publishing house of the Moscow Patriarchy; archpriest Dimitry Vasilenko, the chief military chaplain in the conflict zone of the special military operation; archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, deputy chairman of the Department for External Church Relations; hieromonk Apollinarius (Panin), rector of the Pereva theological seminary; A.V. Schipkov, the first deputy chairman of the Synodal department for Church public relations and the media.
