Session takes place of the Commission for International Co-operation under the Russian Presidential Council for Interaction with Religious Organizations

On 6^th December 2023 there took place at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the fourth of this outgoing year session of the Commission for International Co-operation under the Russian Presidential Council for Interaction with Religious Organizations.

Attending the session, which was led the chairman of the DECR the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Athony, were: the deputy head of the Russian Presidential administration for external policy V. P. Nazarenko; colleague of the Russian Presidential administrator for internal policy and Council secretary (deputy chairman of the Commission) A.V. Tretyakov; aide to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia archpriest Nikolai Balashov; head of the Russian Novo-Nakhichevansk diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church archbishop Ezras Nersisian; the head bishop of the Russian Association of Evangelical Pentecostal Christians S. V. Ryakhovsky; the deputy director of the department under the Russia foreign ministry for ties with the subjects of the Russian federation, parliament and public organizations K. P. Koganov; first deputy chairman of the Committee of the Russian State Duma for international affairs A.V. Chepa; DECR secretary for affairs of the distant abroad and Commission secretary archpriest Sergei Zvonarev; head of the Spiritual Assembly of Russian Muslims A. P. Kurganov; deputy chairman of the Spiritual Directorate of Russian Muslims for international affairs R. R. Abbyasov; chief aide of the department of the Russian Presidential administration for foreign policy A. A. Terentiev, as well as other members of the Commission and invited officials.

The session participants discussed relevant problems on the agenda among which were the strengthening of Russia’s religious communities within the international arena and among Russian compatriots of traditional values, and the international aspects of preparations for the eightieth anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In bringing the meeting to a close, metropolitan Anthonny wished all those present blessed success in their further labours.
