Bishop of Argentina and South America Leonid undertakes archpastoral visit to Uruguay.

From 18th
to 20th November the bishop of Argentina and South America Leonid paid a pastoral visit to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay during which the bishop took services in Montevideo and met with his Russian compatriots, reports the diocese website.
On 18th November on the eve of the 24th Sunday after Pentecost, bishop Leonid took the All-Night Vigil service at the Maxim Gorky Cultural Centre. Serving with the bishop was the secretary of the diocese of Argentina archpriest Sergei Yurin. Attending the service were the Russian ambassador to Uruguay Andrei Budayev and Russians living in Montevideo.
On Sunday 19th November the bishop served on the premises of the cultural centre the divine liturgy accompanied by archpriest Sergei Yurin. After the litany of fervent supplication, the bishop offered up the prayer for Holy Russia. Praying at the service were the senior advisor to the Russian embassy in Uruguay Sergei Leontiev, colleagues from the diplomatic mission and local people.
After the dismissal at the liturgy a thanksgiving service was held after which bishop Leonid delivered a homily to those present, calling upon the people to study the Gospel and endeavour to live their lives in accordance with what is written in Scripture. After the divine liturgy a short litany for the departed was served for the victims of road accidents.
Conversations were continued at the clergy meal afterwards.
On 20th November a meeting took place between the bishop of Argentina and South America and the Russian ambassador to Uruguay Andrei Budayev. During the conversation both sides discussed issues of mutual interest. Also participating in the meeting were the secretary of the diocese of Argentina archpriest Sergei Yurin and the senior advisor at the Russian embassy Sergei Leontiev.
