House arrest of Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkassy and Kanev extended

The Sosnovka District Court in Cherkassy extended house arrest of Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkassy and Kanev at the hearing on November 2.
The prosecution insisted on extending the term of the preventive measure applied to the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. “According to the court’s decision, he will be under 24-hour house arrest for another sixty days and nights,” Ms Bogdana Kulik, representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Cherkassy region said after the court session.
The first indictment against Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkassy and Kanev was brought by the Security Service of Ukraine on 20 February 2023; the new ones were added on April 6 and October 5. Since April 12, Metropolitan Feodosiy has been under 24-hour house arrest, ‘Pravoslavnaya Zhizn’ (Orthodox Life) website reported.
In the end of October, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, Metropolitan Grigoriy of Voskresensk, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate, sent a circular letter to all diocesan bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church with an appeal to offer up augmented prayers for the archpastors and clerics of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church who are held prisoners.
