DECR Communication Service, September 18, 2023.
The Council of Christian Churches in Morocco expressed condolences to the Moroccan people on the tragic earthquake in the mountain province of Al Haouz. Among those who signed the address is Cleric of Patriarchal Exarchate for Africa Archpriest Maxim Massalitin, rector of the Holy Resurrection Church in Rabat, the exarchate’s website reports.
The council is also raising funds to assist those affected by the earthquake.
As reported by the Telegram channel of the Moroccan Orthodox community, donations for those affected can be made on any day in the Orthodox church in Rabat; in the church of Casablanca the fundraising was made on Sunday, September 17. Additionally, the contributions can be made by transfer to the parish account:

IBAN MA64011810000005495001061756, BIC BMCEMAMC (foreign currency account)
Addressee: Église russe, Place Bab Tamesna, Rabat. Please specify the purpose of the transfer: aide aux victimes du séisme
The funds raised by the Orthodox community will be used to purchase medicine and essential products to be delivered to one of the affected mountain areas of the kingdom.
Additionally to that, the Moroccan government has decreed to create a special fund for the earthquake relief and restoration. According to public reports, by September 13 the community has transferred a total of 5 thousand dirhams to that fund.
As reported earlier, on September 9 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed condolences to King Mohammed VI of Morocco following the earthquake in that country, which took the lives of many people and left many injured.
