His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' expressed condolences to King Mohammed VI of Morocco on the earthquake that killed and affected many people.

Your Majesty!

With pain in my heart I took the news about the terrible earthquake in Morocco, which killed hundreds and injured many people, destroyed many buildings including in the old part of Marrakesh listed by the UNESCO Word Heritage Centre.

I sincerely empathize with everyone who has been affected by this disaster, especially with those who lost their loved ones.

I pray that the Merciful Lord give strength to the doctors, who are fighting for the lives of the victims, give consolation to the bereaved and grant them courage to live through that grave trial with dignity.
