Faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate in Turkey made a pilgrimage to the site of St John of Russia's feats

On the 9 June, the feast day of St John the Russian, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the town of Urgyup in Turkey (formerly Prokopion).
The service was held in the cave where the righteous John the Russian lived while in Ottoman captivity. Priest Georgy Sergeev, responsible for organizing the service for the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of the Republic of Turkey, was joined by clerics who provide service to the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in Turkey: Priest Alexey Golovin, who ministers to the community in Antalya, Priest Dimitry Bogatyr, who ministers to the community in Alanya, and Hieromonk Pallady (Bystrov), who ministers to the community at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant that is under construction.
The Liturgy ended with the reading of an akathist to St John of Russia.
More than 60 pilgrims from Ankara, Antalya, Alanya, Bursa, Samsun and Russian experts working on the Akkuyu NPP construction site prayed during the service. Alexander Sotnichenko, Head of the Russian House in Ankara, and Andrey Ryzhenkov, Chief Expert of the Russian House, also took part in the pilgrimage trip.
