Archdiocese of Orthodox parishes of Russian tradition in Western Europe voices support for the Kiev Lavra of the Caves

On March 29, 2023, the Council of the Archdiocese of the Orthodox Churches of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe published a communiqué on the situation with the Kiev Lavra of the Caves.

“Deeply shaken by Russian-Ukrainian conflict which has lasted for more than a year, the Council of the Archdiocese of Orthodox Churches of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe would like to assure the monastic community and the Academy of Theology of the Lavra of the Caves in Kiev of its support in these difficult times that they are living through,” states the document cited by the Union of Orthodox Journalists.

“Trusting in divine mercy, in the intercession of Saints Anthony and Theodosius of Kiev and in the evangelical, spiritual and pastoral benevolence of H.E. Metropolitan Onuphrius, on the eve of His Passion towards which we move, we make these words of the Lord our own: “Let all be one, so that the world may believe’ (Jn 17:21)”, the communiqué says.
