We remind our readers that on 22nd October 2020 there took place in the village of Yurkivtsi in the Chernihiv region an assembly on the territory of the church community wh ere there was an illegal vote to change the jurisdiction of the Church of Saint Dimitrius the Great Martyr to that of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The parishioners of the Church of Saint Dimitrius at this assembly of the religious community reaffirmed their fidelity to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They later published in the Telegram messenger service of the Chernihiv diocese a video appeal in which they stated that they had been deprived of their church but retained their loyalty to the canonical Church and its head the His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius.
