DECR chairman participates in session of board of directors of the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad.

On 30^th November the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony took part in a session of the board of directors of the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad, which was presided over by the Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov.

The session was also attended by the Russian justice minister K. A. Chuichenko, the chairman of the State Duma committee for the Commonwealth of Independent States affairs, Eurasian integration and ties with compatriots L.I. Kalashnikov, the head of the Russian presidential administration for interregional and cultural ties with foreign countries I. V. Maslov, the plenipotentiary for human rights in Russia T. N. Moskalkova, the chairman of the Russian association of lawyers S. V. Stepashin, minister of Moscow city government and director of the department for external economic and international ties S. Ye. Cheremin, the director general of the Russia Today international media agency D. K. Kiselev, as well as representatives of interested federal executive bodies and public organizations.

In his presentation metropolitan Anthony emphasized the importance of church-state collaboration in the sphere of protecting the rights and interests of compatriots living abroad.

The meeting’s participants analyzed the results of the Foundation’s work in recent years and put forward recommendations for priorities in the Foundation’s work for 2023.
