Head of Melkite Church meets with representative of the Moscow Patriarchate in Damascus.

On 26^th November the Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Youssef I Absi received at his residence in the historical capital of Syria the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev).

In the course of the fraternal discussion issues were touched upon concerning cooperation between the Melkite Patriarchate of Damascus and the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church. Archimandrite Philip, particularly, spoke to His Beatitude of his visit to the bakery of the Melkite Church in Maaroun.

Patriarch Youssef I Absi showed his guest his residence and spoke about the history of the Melkite Patriarchate of Damascus, reports the site of the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church. On the same day archimandrite Philip visited the faculty of theology under the Melkite Patriarchate in the Syrian capital.
