Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk celebrated Liturgy at Holy Sepulchre

On November 6, the 21st Week after Pentecost, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, together with Metropolitan Hesychius of Capitoliada celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem.
At the life-giving Holy Sepulchre, in the presence of a multitude of pilgrims, the hierarchs were assisted by the representative of the Patriarch of Jerusalem to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Archimandrite Stephen (Dispirakis); Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, an adviser to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, acting vice-chairman of the DECR; Hieromonk Dometian (Markarian), a member of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem; Rev. Alexander Ershov, assistant to the DECR chairman; and clergy from the Orthodox Churches of Jerusalem, Russia and Romania.
The liturgical hymns were sung by choristers of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre and sisters from the Gorneye Convent in Jerusalem. The statuary Gospel’s periscope was read in Greek, Church Slavonic and Romanian. The same languages were used for liturgical prayers.
On the same day, the DECR chairman departed from Jerusalem.
