Church representatives attend the signing of treaties on accession of Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia

On September 30, the ceremony of signing the treaties on accession of DPR and LNR and Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia and the formation of new constituencies of the Russian Federation took place at the St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
The participants in the ceremony were addressed by President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin.
The treaties were signed by the DPR and LPR leaders D. Pushilin and L. Pasechnik, and heads of the Zaporozhye and Kherson region Ye. V. Baulitskiy and V. V. Saldo.
Present at the St. George Hall were representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, namely, Metropolitan Dionosiy of Voskresensk, chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate; Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations; Metropolitan Panteleimon of Lugansk and Alchevsk; and Mr. V. P. Legoida, chairman of the Synodal Department for the Church’s Relations with Society and Mass Media and acting head of the Patriarchal Press Service, Patriarchia ru. reports.
