Rector and parishioners of Beirut Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church attend festive Liturgy in Saida

On August 19, the feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ, the community of the Beirut Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church attended the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Saida at the invitation of Metropolitan Elias of Tyre and Sidon, the Representation website reports.
Officiating at the festive divine service was Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), rector of the Beirut Representation. Archpriest Joseph Kfoury, rector of the church of St. Nicholas, concelebrated.
Metropolitan Elias of Tyre and Sidon was praying at the Liturgy and delivered a sermon on the feast.
The divine service was celebrated in the Arabic and Church Slavonic languages.
After the communion verse, Metropolitan Elias warmly welcomed Archimandrite Philip and congratulated him on his new assignment, pointing out that the church of St. Nicholas in Saida is always open for the community of the ROC Representation.
