His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch meets with representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia

On September 30, 2021, His Beatitude John X, Patriarch of Antioch, met with the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchal See of Antioch, Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), at the Patriarchate of Antioch in Damascus.

In the course of the meeting, His Beatitude Patriarch John expressed gratitude to His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, for the fraternal aid that the Russian Church gives to the Church of Antioch in restoring churches damages during the war in Syria.

At present, with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church, three religious edifices are being restored in Arbin, Al Zabadani and Darayya.

His Beatitude also thanked the Russian Church for giving medical equipment to the Patriarchal Al-Hosn Hospital located in the Valley of Christians, Holmes Province.

Hegumen Arseny conveyed greetings to the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Antioch from Patriarch Kirill. He also informed Patriarch John about the international conference on “World Orthodoxy: Primacy and Conciliarity in Light of Orthodox Teaching” which recently took place in Moscow and was chaired by Patriarch Kirill.

Then the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual concern.
