Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Russian Ambassador to Hungary

On September 6, 2021, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with H.E. Yevgeny A. Stanislavov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Hungary.

During the meeting that took place at the official residence at the Russian Embassy in Budapest opinions were exchanged on a whole host of issues of international life and Russian-Hungarian relations.

Metropolitan Hilarion told the Ambassador about the history of the Russian Orthodox Church in Hungary and shared his reminiscences of the years of his ministry as the head of the diocese of Budapest and Hungary. Discussed were main directions of cooperation between the Department for External Church Relations and the representation of Russia in Hungary.

At the end of the meeting, Metropolitan Hilarion wished Ambassador Stanislavov God’s aid in his diplomatic career.
