Representative of Russian Church takes part in dedication day at the Church of St Nedelya the Great Martyr in Sofia
On 7th July 2021, the Liturgy was celebrated at the cathedral church of St. Nedelya the Great Martyr in the capital of Bulgaria.
Officiating at the Divine service was Bishop Polikarp of Belogradchik, a vicar of the Sofia bishopric, in concelebration with Archimandrite Vasily (Savov), protosyngel of the Sofia bishopric; Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church; Archimandrite Afanasij (Sultanov), protosyngel of the West European bishopric; Nikolaj Georgiev, rector of the cathedral church; and clerics of the Sofia bishopric.
Praying at the Divine Liturgy was Ms Yordanka Fandakova, mayor of Sofia.
After the divine service, Bishop Polikarp greeted the clerics and parishioners with the commemoration day of St. Nedelya who was martyred for confessing the Christian faith under the Roman emperor Diocletian.
