Representatives of Cambodia’s Ministry of Cults and Religions visit St. George church in Pnom Penh

On June 2, 2021, representatives of the Ministry of Cults and Religions of the Kingdom of Cambodia visited the church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Conqueror in Pnom Penh. The delegation included Mr. Him Vibolrith, general director of the MCR department for religious affairs, and Mr. Khan Sophanara, director of the MCR department for religious affairs.
The guests were welcomed by the rector of the church, acting dean of the Cambodia Deanery of the Diocese of Thailand, Hieromonk Paisiy (Ipate), and the operational director of the Foundation of the Orthodox Church in Cambodia (Moscow Patriarchate), Mr. Kuoch Munnmony.
The MCR representatives made a tour of the church and familiarized themselves with the religious and social work of the parish. The visit was also an inspection in connection with the licensing of Orthodox parishes for work in the Kingdom of Cambodia (according to the Cambodian law, licenses are reissued every two years).
In conclusion of the meeting, Hieromonk Paisiy, on behalf of the Parish of St. George, conveyed to the Ministry of Cults and Religions 80 litres of disinfectants and 5 thousand masks in support to the government in its struggle with the coronavirus infection.
