Metropolitan Silouan of Mount Lebanon congratulates the Representation of the Russian Church in Lebanon on its 75th anniversary

Metropolitan Silouan of Mount Lebanon (Orthodox Church of Antioch) congratulated the rector of the Representation, Archimandrite Philipp (Vasiltsev), on the 75^th anniversary of the Lebanon Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In his congratulatory message, the hierarch also expressed joy over the common prayer held on the commemoration day of Ss Cyril and Methodius Equal-to-the-Apostles at the Church of the Annunciation in Jal el Dib.

“Our first common service since this church was handed over to the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church and Orthodox families who came from countries of the former Soviet Union is undoubtedly a historic event. According to your words and witness of your parishioners, on this day a hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Antioch for the first time presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church”, Metropolitan Silouan underlined, “Moreover, the participation of His Eminence Metropolitan Niphon, representative of the Patriarchate of Antioch to the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow, who has carried out this lofty and important service for 44 year now, was a bridge uniting the Representations of the Churches of Russia and Antioch and strengthening relations between our two Churches. Significantly, this event coincided with the name day of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia”.
