Metropolitan Hilarion: the US secretary of state has shown that the “OCU” is a political project
The only representative with whom US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met during his visit to Ukraine was head of the schismatic “OCU” Epihaniy Domenko. Moreover, according to the schimatics, special attention during the meeting was given to the transfer of the communities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the “OCU”. Soon after the visit of the high-ranking representative of the American administration, a new wave of attempts to seize churches of the canonical Church rolled over Ukraine.
In the opinion of the head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, this sequence of events is not an accidental coincidence.
“And certainly, the fact that the US secretary of state met with the schism leader but did not meet either with the head of the canonical Church or Muslim or Judaic religious leaders shows for the umpteenth time that the “OCU” is a project of the USA, a political project from beginning to end”, the hierarch said on the air of the Church and the World program.
His Eminence underlined that the “OCU” was created by Americans “in order to realize for the umpteenth time the principle “divide and rule” by which they are guided.
“Thus the division that had already happened on the political level happened on the church level as well, and the person who implemented this American plan was Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople. His dependence on America is quite obvious and a common knowledge; as a matter of fact, nobody hides it”, Metropolitan Hilarion stated.
