Condolences of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed his condolences on the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Her Majesty ELIZABETH II
Queen of the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Your Majesty,
It grieved me to learn about the demise of your spouse, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Your Majesty and in your person to all the British people.
A whole epoch found an echo in the life of Prince Philip. Being a representative of the Greek line of the Oldenburg dynasty, His Royal Highness had warm feelings towards the Orthodox culture and traditions and was the honorary member of The Friends of Mount Athos Society. Prince Philip showed a lively interest in the history and culture of Russia, which he visited on repeated occasions.
May the Lord in His loving kindness be merciful to the soul of the deceased and grant consolation to all those mourning this loss.
With sincere condolences,
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
