Aid to school for disabled children conveyed by the Russian Church representative in Damascus

Wheelchairs and gifts from Russia have been conveyed by Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, to pupils of the school for disabled children ‘Aamal’ in the Syrian capital city.
It is already the second action for aid to this school: in November 2020, the Damascus representation of the Russian Orthodox Church, with the assistance of ‘Combat Brotherhood’, the Russian national organization of veterans conveyed wheelchairs to children of the Aamal special school.
Father Arseny visited the school together with the first secretary of the Russian embassy in Syria, T. Bokov, and a humanitarian group of the Combat Brotherhood. The kids arranged a short concert for the guests and showed them their classes.
The director of the school, Mr. Mosaab Kanj thanked the participants in the humanitarian action for the gifts so much needed by children and said, “When we hear the word ‘Russia’, we know that it means kindness and help”.
Hegumen Arseny underlined that the humanitarian aid to children, who need support as much as nobody else, will be continued.
