Cooperation agreement signed between ROC Institute of Post-Graduate Studies and Uppsala University Faculty of Theology

On May 14, 2014, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, who is on a visit to Sweden with a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and Prof. Mikael Stenmark, dean of the Uppsala University Faculty of Theology signed a cooperation agreement between the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute of Post-Graduate Studies and the Faculty of Theology of Uppsala University.

The signing ceremony took place in the hall of the Faculty of Theology Academic Council in the historic building of the university.

Before the signing, there was a working lunch with Uppsala University rector Eva Åkesson. She spoke about the history of one of the oldest universities in Europe, its structure and today’s projects.

On the same day, the rector of the ROC Institute of Post-Graduate Studies and the dean of the faculty discussed prospects for cooperation in students’ exchange and common academic projects. Metropolitan Hilarion presented Prof. Stenmark with two volumes of the English version of his book Orthodoxy.
