People in Middle East thank Patriarch Kirill for his efforts to defend Christians in the region
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations have received letters expressing gratitude for the attention to the tragic fate of Christians in the Middle East.
After the Communication Service of the Department for External Church Relations published on August 14, 2014, its statement “On Mass Terror Towards Christians in Iraq”, a letter has come from President Pascale Warda of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization expressing to His Holiness “profound gratitude for your concerns about our Christian people’s plight living in ongoing genocide” in Iraq. Ms Warda also asks His Holiness Kirill’s prayers for the much-suffering Iraqi Christians.
A letter thanking the Russian Orthodox Church for its consideration for the suffering Christians has also been received from the Apostolic Nunciate in Iraq.
