Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians meets with Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus

On June 8, 2019, Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavsk, Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus, met with the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church received Metropolitan Pavel, who is on a visit to Armenia with a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in this residence in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Present at the meeting were also Armenia’s Ambassador to Belarus Mr. Armen Gevodian and other invited guests.

His Holiness greeted those present expressing special joy and gratitude to the Patriarchal Exarch for his coming to Armenia and the friendly meeting. Metropolitan Pavel and Catholicos Karekin II are tied by their students’ years spent in Moscow Theological Academy.

Metropolitan Pavel thanked the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians for the invitation and opportunity to be familiarized with the life of the Armenian Church and to visit holy places and historical sights in Armenia.

In conclusion of the meeting, the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church expressed to the Exarch of All Belarus the wishes of long life and fruitful work for the glory of the Holy Church of Christ and for the consolation of the faithful in White Rus’.

After the official meeting, Metropolitan Pavel visited Orthodox churches in Yerevan, talked to their rectors and parishioners and gave them his archpastoral benediction.
