Construction of Orthodox church discussed at a meeting in Moscow
On 6 November 2018, a meeting between Mr. Mikhail Belousov, deputy-head of the Domestic Policy Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, and Mr. Vu Chien Thang, chairman of the Governmental Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, took place in Moscow.
The participants in the meeting shared their opinions on the development of cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in religious sphere and discussed an issue of constructing a home chapel in the residential area of the Russian specialists working at the Vietsovpetro Russia-Vietnam Joint Oil-Production Venture in the city of Vũng Tàu, Vietnam. The Russian Orthodox Church’s parish of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was founded there in 2002.
Among those who took part in the meeting was Mr. Dmitry Petrovsky, a staff member of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.
