DECR deputy chairman meets with Iranian delegation

On 22nd October 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, DECR Deputy Chairman, met with Dr. Ali Akbar Ziaei, Head of the Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Taking part in the meeting, held at the Department for External Church Relations, were also Mr Abdolreza Rashid, Head of the Cultural Representative Office at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, and his deputy Ms Zahra Rashid-Beigi.
The participants in the meeting discussed preparations for the 13th meeting of the Joint Russian-Iranian Commission for Orthodoxy-Islam Dialogue, due to take place in Tehran in 2027.
