Bishop Euphimy of Lukhovitsy meets with Consul General of the Russian Federation in Alexandria

On the 30th of September 2026, D.D. Zaletkin, the newly appointed Consul General of the Russian Federation in Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt, visited the Church of St Sergius of Radonezh in Cairo.
The distinguished guest was welcomed by Bishop Euphimy of Lukhovitsy, Vicar of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, and Priest Dimitry Gurov, a cleric of the St Sergius Parish and Acting Rector of the Parish of the Holy Myrrh-bearing Women in Hurghada. G. Radjabov, Attaché of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Alexandria, also took part in the meeting, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, citing information from the Egyptian Deanery.
After touring the church, a meeting was held at the office of the Diocese of North Africa, during which the parties discussed areas of cooperation. In particular, they discussed prospects for the resumption of regular services in Alexandria.
