DECR chairman receives representatives from the embassy of Turkey in Russia

On 7^th September 2026 at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate the chairman of the DECR the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Anthony met with representatives of the Turkish embassy in Russia.

Participating in the meeting on the Turkish side were: the advisor for religious affairs Emin Patan, the embassy third secretary Fatih Karadja and translation R. R. Yanglichev.

On the DECR side taking part were: the deputy chairman of the DECR archpriest Vyzhanov and DECR secretary for interreligious relations Father Ilya Kashitsyn.

Metropolitan Anthony spoke to the guests on the external work of the Russian Orthodox Church and her contacts at the interreligious level.

The metropolitan reminded his guests that from 2011 onward the DECR has supported interaction with the directorate for religious affairs of Turkey as part of a bilateral working group.

The participants of the meeting discussed the results of the previous sessions of the working group and outlined the possibilities for further cooperation.

Both sides had a constructive dialogue on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting both sides exchanged souvenirs.
