On the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa celebrated first Liturgy in Seychelles

On 14th January 2026, Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and commemoration day of St. Basil the Great, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Victoria, capital of the Republic of Seychelles.
It was the first hierarchiсal service of the Russian Orthodox tradition celebrated on the archipelago. Concelebrating with Metropolitan Konstantin was Priest Vasily Beletsky, a cleric of the Kursk Diocese, who was staying in Seychelles during the Christmas season with the blessing of Metropolitan German of Kursk and Rylsk.
Among those who attended the divine service were Mr Artem Kozhin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Seychelles, as well as the Embassy officials and Russian compatriots, reports the Exarchate’s Telegram channel.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa delivered a homily, extending his festive greetings to all those present. The hierarch also offered felicitations to Father Vasily on the occasion of his Name Day and his belated birthday. During a coffee hour that followed, the arhpastor talked with the faithful.
The day before, Metropolitan Konstantin had met with Russia’s Ambassador to Seychelles Artem Kozhin.
